Cascades Park, dedicated in 1924, is Bloomingtons first public parks area. This narrow valley refuge is located along Old State Road 37, at one time the main highway access to Bloomington. A short trail wonders along side small cascading waterfalls and various limestone picnic tables and shelters. Parking and playgrounds can be found on the North end of the park, as well as a Buddhist temple, and access to Upper Cascades Park. Often overlooked, Lower Cascades has a unique history and charm.
